So I've been reading everyone's backstories and have noticed some reoccurrening countries. So if anyone wants to say what country they're from and others can chime in and maybe decide what kind of accent or culture you might share feel free here!

Syl'relien - Elf - Kniven. Doesn't want to do a French accent, so I'm taking suggestions for that.

Muspell
Wái Rén (Demon, although this is a pejorative word in his opinion, and refers to the old race from which current day demons originate).
Zendao - whatever region is Chinese Wuxia based.

Rolyth Schwartz - elf - Zendao
He grew up on the move and speaking to people from all the countries so he never developed an accent. (Steve can't do accents thus his characters don't have accents)

Julio Mandara will not hesitate to tell you all about his beloved home city of Merova, a tourist paradise on an island off the southern coast of Kniven. He has a spanish accent.
In general, though, I've always treated different accents coming from the same country as different regional dialects, like how Boston accents and New York accents are different, but are relatively close geographically. Or how Spain has something like 10 different regional dialects of Spanish.

Agree with Brian on this...I played Kagome with no accent, since to affect an Asian one would have seem somewhat racist in my opinion, though honestly, adapting any culture can be viewed that way...LOL. Also, I find accents difficult to maintain with consistency, and bad accents hurt me on a deep level. I am going to be affecting altered speech patterns, cadence, and pronunciation for the NPCs I have in mind, just to help differentiate, and also that could then be explained that is how that character learned Common...

Just as another comment, I am creating folk stories for each land, and building up some of their "culture" as I do so.
